Yankees in the off season

Dear Phil Hughes,

I don't care if you are 10 months older than me. You may in fact be
fairly young and you may in fact pitch decently well, but show me
something tangible. Put Arod there ... "my first full season, i batted
over .350, with 36 home runs." That's not fair, obviously. but
seriously, the only thing I hear about Joba is whether he should start
or be in the bullpen. He will be the best either, or. So please,
please, please, realize that Phil Hughes won't do shit for the next 5
seasons and recognize that Joba Chamberlain is the force, and realize
that Hughes' five shut out innings in triple A mean a little less than
generic dove vs. neutragena to most people.

Oil

The other day, someone made a comment about how nice it is that
gasoline is under 3 dollars once again. Especially after lurking in
the $4.20 range... (I thought that was interesting how that number
came to my head. very interesting.). Anyway, sure, it's kind of cool,
I guess. However, I kind of think it's just some typical nonsense
where everything else has hit the fan, the economy is crumbling, a
solid 15 of my good friends are either unemployed and can't catch a
job, or working some temporary, irrelevant position that really just
puts that money in the hand... But hey, despite the tough job market
and the 800 billion little project that congress passed, it's all
good, because gas prices are dropping, so that offers some relief.
Never mind the change in demand for the fuel. Hey, remember McCain's
(and hilary's, for that matter), clever idea of a gas holiday? hehe.

So crude oil is at $63 a barrel, after reaching a record 147 on july
11, 2008. So over 50% in the past 3 months. Put that money in my hand
then, silly, trailing refineries.

where should I move? I think i'm going to buy an acre of land and
build homes for tiny people on it.

Oh, vote for Ralph Nader.

until next time.

peace.

Great Moments in Presidential Speeches

David Letterman runs a segment on the Tonight Show called Great
Moments in Presidential Speeches, and the majority are hilarious.
Granted, watching George Bush speak is quite entertaining, but these
segments are great.

I recommend you youtube search "great moments in presidential
speeches," "memorable speeches, presidents," etc.

Here's one I enjoyed.

Enjoy.

until next time.

And Baseball

So I figured I would post about the playoffs.

The mets have choked once again, and the Yankees have missed the
playoffs after 13 years. Hank Steinbrenner has much to say, the little
bitch that he is. He directly attacks Joe Torre's continue playoff
success with bitching and moaning about how the AL east is obviously
much tougher and if the Dodgers were in this division, they would be
no threat. This is after Steinbrenner bitched about ace pitcher Chien
Ming Wang broke his leg or something while running bases during
interleague play. I don't know, I am indifferent, but feel that some
basic principles of baseball are hitting, base running, throwing.
Pitchers are technically "athletes," granted some appear more so than
others- like compare Roger Clemens (with or without hgh) to david
wells. psh.

Ok, I am ranting about the yankees, but onward!

I think the devil rays will drown... I mean, it's the Red Sox. It's a
sick pitching staff, granted I must bite my tongue as I say that. And
the offense is truly nothing less than insanity. Granted, youk might
get thrown around the infield with lowell's absence, and there are a
bunch of youths coming from Pawtucket, but it shall still be the
forceful offense. As for tampa bay, they just beat the whitesox. and
as you know, All chicago teams suck.

I guess I really dont have anything else that's moderately insightful
to say, but the Dodgers are just fun to watch. And who would you call
to beat the red sox? Joe torre and Manny? obviously. I guess the only
reason I started this post is to get at this point---> I am just
waiting to see TBS in the locker room with live coverage after the
Dodgers take the world series, and they see a drunken Joe Torre, pants
at ankles, defecating into a box with "the steinbrenner's,"
appropriately addressed, with FedEx on hand to overnight it.

Ah, and just so the people that care to read this--> I decided that I
don't want to blog about the shitty economy or the shitty politicians.
Ralph Nader for president. Sure, you might not agree with EVERYTHING
he says, but I promise he won't talk out of his ass and change his
views on issues overnight.

Oh!!! I have something! Apparently after the government bailed out AIG
($85 billion, what what in the butt?), AIG ran up $440,000 while
sending executives to the coastal St. Regis resort south of Los
Angeles for a retreat, complete with spa treatments, banquets and golf
outings. The White House calls this "despicable," where the bailout
was to help out everyday americans and not the filthy rich of wall
street. and obviously, I have a different, more drastic view. as per
usual, I would respond with something like "individuals should get
tied up, forced to the ground, and shot in the back of the fucking
head."

oi! put it on my tab.

Just a little worked up, thats all.

Until next time.

peace.

Bush wants more power

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080919/financial_meltdown.html

The deteriorating economy is of huge concern to Mr. Bush. But wait,
fellow Americans (and possibly Suhas), He has the solution!!!!
"Sweeping new powers."
Before the markets opened, the government sought to block short
selling (ill write about that later for arvin), where individuals
basically make money from a drop in a stock's price. Figure, the rich
and evil all sell short, it's putting their money on a declining
market... Have faith! George Bush has the answer!

However, the specifics are not there. It's more like um... the
government has to buy bad mortgages, treasury must reach into
emergency funds, and the economy must get fixed. Excellent. without
burdening the citizens with taxes. Estimated 1/2 trillion dollars for
the new bailout. Anyway, I'd like to see more of a plan.

Until Next Time.

Peace.
