Off Shore Drilling

The House of Representatives approved a package to lift the ban off of
Atlantic and Pacific coast lines (as close as 50 miles). This Package
(and alternatives) will now go before the Senate. Apparently, money
acquired from the drilling would be incentive which finances our long
term development of renewable energy.

So if this legislation is not passed by September 30, the current ban
will be alleviated, allowing exploration to occur up to 3 miles off
the US shore. I'm predicting George Bush and his devil straw goes
after it all, so he really goes out with a bang.

"Republicans vowed to continue their push right up to Election Day for
a more expansive drilling program and more funding for nuclear power."

So I'm a bit confused. So the republicans were aggravated because this
legislation prevented drillers from exploring area closer to the shore
lines which are known to be rich in oil. However,,,,,,, when off shore
wind projects are discussed, that's immediately given a red light
(Cape Wind. I am aware that there are many issues regarding this,
which I'll further explore at a later time, but still). I say we drill
Cape Cod. And Malibu. Outside the OC (based on the show, im expecting
orange county, CA to be all rich and fancy). I'm saying, the
republicans want to drill closer, provided that it further suppresses
the poor further. Not in my backyard.

Until Next Time.

peace.

daben.
